Lena Headey is going from one beloved series to another.

The Game of Thrones co-star has been tapped to voice the lead character in Zenoscope Entertainment's animated series based on its popular comic Grimm Fairy Tales, the company announced Tuesday.

The former Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star will lend her voice to play Sela Mathers in the animated series from Titmouse Animation Studio, director Jon Schnepp (The Venture Bros.) and Zenoscope.

The comic series, which launched in 2005, revolves around reinventions of classic fairy tales with modern twists and extended plots and centers on Sela, a literature professor who has been given the ability to affect people's lives by teaching them morality lessons through fairy tales.

Zenoscope, Titmouse and Schnepp are currently seeking funding for the project through crowd-funding site Kickstarter.com.

"It gives us a chance to make this series the way our fans want to see it be made," Zenoscope editor-in-chief Ralph Tedesco said in a statement announcing the news. "We're about a third of the way there with funding and hopefully now with the all of the talent weve brought on board fans will see that this can be an amazing project to back.

Step Up 2's Briana Evigan co-stars in the project, which will continue to seek funding toward its goal of $175,000 through May 1.

Headey's casting comes mere hours after HBO renewed fantasy drama Game of Thrones, based on the best-selling novels by George R.R. Martin, for a third season.
