It's been a busy week for American Idol alum Casey James, who was in New York City for some promotional appearances supporting his eponymous debut CD.
The Season9 third-place finisher currently holds the No. 27 spot on the country charts with his emotional single, "Crying on a Suitcase," which he will perform acoustically Thursday morning on VH1's Big Morning Buzz. He also performed for Fox News and People magazine on Tuesday.

On Monday, the 30-year-old Texas native hosted an informative live stream chat for fans, which covered plenty of ground including whether or not the photogenic singer, who displayed natural acting chops in his new video, would consider drama as a second career ("If the opportunity arises and I got the time ... it would be fun," he said.), who takes care of his dogs (his brother) and hisfavorite cars (James likes the classics- 1967 Camaro, 1974 Charger,1969 Barracudo and a 1944 pick-upare all on his list).
The biggest revelation is that James is already writing for the next album, and he is hoping that he can release the results on his current label, Columbia, Nashville.
"Iwould love to actually be allowed to do another album with the same situation, which would begreat," he said.
