Fringe duo J.J. Abrams and J.H. Wyman are reteaming for a sci-fi project set up at Fox.
The network, which will wrap Fringe following a 13-episode final season this year, has given a pilot production commitment to a futuristic cop drama, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Like Abrams' upcoming NBC drama Revolution, the Fox effort is set in the not-so-distant future and revolves around LAPD officers who are now partnered with highly evolved human-like androids.

Wyman will pen the untitled project and executive produce alongside Abrams and Bryan Burk for Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television, where Abrams is based. Kathy Lingg will co-executive produce.
The buddy cop drama comes as Abrams will wrap Fringe with a fifth and final season and as the prolific producer is poised to launch NBC's post-apocalyptic drama Revolution -- which is set 15 years in the future.
