AMC has released a new clip from the fifth-season opener of Breaking Bad, and it seems viewers were not the only ones shocked by the death of drug kingpin Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) in last seasons finale.
The 90-second clip follows one previously released clip and several photo releases, and finds Skyler (Anna Gunn) and Walter Jr. (RJ Mitte) rejoining new meth king Walter White (Bryan Cranston) at home following the sudden death of Fring. Walter Jr., unaware of his fathers drug ties, raves about his surprise regarding Frings meth empire and his DEA uncle Hanks investigation of said empire. When Junior asks Skyler if she told Walt about Frings death, she responds with a tactful, He knows.
The clip follows trailer and photo releases for the heavily promoted season, which kicks off July 15 at 10 p.m One day before the season premiere on AMC, Breaking Bad is doing a panel and special premiere screening at Comic-Con International, at a sure-to-be-packed hall of devoted fans.
