'Parks and Recreation's' Washington Trip to Feature Political Guest Stars

NBC's Parks and Recreation won't have to search long and hard for extras to appear in its Washington, D.C.-set episode.

The Amy Poehler comedy has enlisted Senators. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., John McCain, R-Ariz., and Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, for its upcoming fifth season, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

During the second episode of the comedy -- which picked up four Emmy nominations Thursday including Poehler's third for her role as Leslie Knope -- the trio of politicos will cameo as themselves.

Titled "Ms. Knope Goes to Washington," the episode scheduled for Sept. 27 will feature the newly elected Pawnee city councilwoman travel to D.C. to visit boyfriend Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott). During the visit, the duo will attend a mixer that will feature the trio of senators.

Parks and Recreationreturns Thursday, Sept. 20 at 9:30 p.m. on NBC.
