'Sons of Anarchy': Joel McHale Gets Up Close and Personal With the Gang (Exclusive Photo)

Sons of Anarchy Joel McHale Exclusive - H 2012
FX

What would Joel McHale look like as part of the biker gang world?

Heres your first look.

The Community star is joining FXs hit drama Sons of Anarchy in the upcoming season for a multi-episode arc, and The Hollywood Reporter has a first look image of McHale on the show.

As THR previously reported, McHale will play Warren, a con man who double-crosses the wrong person.

And who could that wrong person be? Well, from the looks of this exclusive photo, it could be a member of the Sons because they are standing awfully close to McHale.

McHale isn't the only new face on the this season. Ashley Tisdale will guest star as a high-priced escort, and former NYPD Blue star Jimmy Smits will play Neron Nero Padilla, a gang member who influences the members of SAMCRO.

Sons of Anarchy, which will return for its fifth season on Sept. 11, sees Jax (Charlie Hunnam) taking his stepfather Clays (Ron Perlman) place at the head of the table of the California motorcycle club.

"This is the season about Jax at the head of that table and what kind of leader he will become," creator Kurt Sutter explained at the Sons of Anarchy panel at Comic-Con in July.

Sutter has mentioned that he is considering on ending the hit drama after seven season. The show has already been renewed for a sixth season.

My sense of where the show will end up includes Jax and perhaps Gemma [Katey Sagal] and Clay, he said during TCA. I dont think the show continues without Jax because I believe in his journey. This season I have to write to that endgame; the stakes get higher, the circumstances get more dire, the wreckage gets deeper -- and as a result, things will change. I dont know how it all will fall apart, but eventually it will. The show is the princes journey. There is no show without Jax.

Sons of Anarchy's fifth season premieres Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
