Whitney may be down one series regular, but 30 Rock's Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) is getting back a doting assistant.

A NBC rep confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that Maulik Pancholy won't be returning with Whitney when its sophomore season bows this fall, as first reported by TV Guide. The actor, who played Neal on Whitney Cummings' comedy, will instead return in a recurring capacity to 30 Rock for its final run.

Pancholy has been in 58 episodes of 30 Rock since first appearing as Jack's obsessive assistant Jonathan in the series' pilot. Other than his awkward devotion to Jack, Jonathan has probably been best known for his attempts to sabotage Tina Fey's Liz Lemon.

He last appeared in the season five finale "Respawn."

In addition to his work on 30 Rock and Whitney, Pancholy has had recurring roles on Web Therapy and Weeds. He's repped by Don Buchwald & Associates.
