The return of America's Got Talent was a boon to NBC on Tuesday, giving the network dominant showings among adults 18-49 (a 2.3 rating) and total viewers (7.9 million). The two-hour broadcast, even with its last original before the Olympics, posted a 2.7 rating among adults 18-49. Stars Earns Stripes dropped three tenths of a point from its premiere, among adults 18-49, at 10 p.m. The broadcast still bested the other networks in the hour with a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49.

Fox came in a close second for the night with an average 2.2 adults rating and 5.4 million viewers. Hotel Hell managed to rise 11 percent from Monday's debut, earning a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49, while the return of original MasterChef was down just one tenth of a point for a 2.7 adults rating
Univision earned a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49 for the night, followed by CBS repeats that averaged a 1.1 adults rating. The latter also averaged 6.5 million viewers.
ABC had comedy encores leading up to a new episode of ABC News' NY Med. The docu-series was up three tenths of a point from last week for a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49. The network averaged a 0.8 adults rating and 2.98 million viewers.
A new L.A. Complex had a 0.2 rating among adults 18-49 on the CW.
