To promote the Aug. 9 arrival of Forsaken, a series of teaser trailers entice consumers to flirt with darkness. HSNs Facebook page features a countdown clock to the launch and set of mini-clips depicting the products: a quivering candle flame being snuffed out, scarlet liquid dripping down a female torso, full cherry lips puckering for a close-up, and glistening ruby red nails clutching a perfume bottle. In the two latest videos, viewers tune into the Human Shopping Network as a perky hostess showcases the Forsaken line. Shes interrupted by the sudden appearance of a hunky stranger, who inquires whether adorned nails will hold up as they claw their way through a coffin lid or a bed sheet. Watch the video here:

All of the hues for the Forsaken cosmetics were designed byLippmann, a 15-year veteran of the beauty industry. A fan of the excitement and dramatic love sagas on True Blood, she named the collection after song titles taken from the shows soundtrack, including her very first lip color Bite Me.

When I think of the music from True Blood, it's no surprise that Jace Everetts opening song titled Bad Things immediately comes to mind, said Lippmann. This song inspired the sets called Bad Things, Strange Love and New Flesh, which is not from the soundtrack but is an equally fitting title. The trio represents crucial elements of the show: love, flesh and blood.

Lippmann designed each set of nail lacquers around each of the main female characters. Dark cherry Bad Blood ($25) is perfect for Pams (Kristin Bauer van Straten) edgy, black-leather-wearing vampire. Like Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll), the deep magenta Strange Love ($25) isnt too dark but still sultry. From the Sookie Sookie set named after the title heroine (Anna Paquin), New Flesh is a clean nude that is beige yet sheer, and really fits her character featuring the opaque Human Nature and iridescent Fairydust ($25) which represents both her human side and her ethereal side with magical powers.

Finally, the signature Forsaken set ($28) includes Bite Me, a rich blackberry crme that beckons a vampire bite, plus Let It Bleed blood red nail color.

For people who aren't big fragrance wearers, the scented lacquer is perfect because it's a great way to wear fragrance in a subtle way, Lippmann said. The scent will last on the nails for about four days. You can place a top coat over it without affecting the fragrance.

Encased in a crimson-colored crystal case, the Forsaken eau de parfum ($59.50) is an intoxicating blend of lush fruits, sensual jasmine and warm wood and includes a body cream and body veil powder. In addition, smoky candles with fang-adorned lid ($58) and diffusers dipped in deep notes of Forsaken fragrance can adorn the homes of True Blood fans.

[We have] amazing partners who made the Forsaken line a reality by developing and executing fabulous products, said HBO Global Licensing VP James Costos. We are excited to provide HSN with the exclusive launch as it introduces the True Blood brand to a whole new audience.

Prior to Forsaken, HBO promoted a cosmetics tie-in the fall of 2011 at Sephora with Tarte by Tarina Tarantino, including a limited edition color palette with matching lip tints and cheek stains as well as primer, eyeliner and mascara to create the look of a vampy vixen or other supernatural siren.
