Several broadcast offerings returned after weeks off the air. How did they fare on Thursday night?
For NBC's Parks and Recreation (3.5 million total viewers, 1.8 rating in adults 18-49 demographic), which aired its first original since early March, the Amy Poehler-led comedy was even with its last original in early March -- though it aired earlier in the lineup. Parks and Rec moved from the 8:30 p.m. slot to assume the period belonging to rookie series Up All Night, with the move boosted the time period for the network.
Meanwhile, Community (2.9 million, 1.3) dipped, 30 Rock (3.2 million, 1.5) rose just slightly and The Office (4.3 million, 2.2) was steady. Awake (2.7 million, 0.8) sank 11 percent to hit a series low.
It was also back to business for CW's The Vampire Diaries (2.2 million, 1.0), though the vampire drama couldn't match its last original, hitting a season low. The Secret Circle (1.1 million, 0.5) reached its lowest demo rating yet.
Fox's American Idol (14.6 million, 3.9) results show was down 7 percent from last week's comparable telecast, but was still the evening's top-rated and most-watched program on broadcast. Touch (7.3 million, 2.1) dropped 9 percent.
ABC's Missing (7.1 million, 1.3) hit a low, while Grey's Anatomy (9.7 million, 3.2) improved 10 percent from the previous week. Freshman drama Scandal (7.4 million, 2.1) rose 5 percent.
CBS aired repeats, though a new Rules of Engagement (7.7 million, 2.2) sank 19 percent, matching a series low.
Fox topped Thursday with a 3.0 rating, with ABC (2.2), CBS (1.8) and NBC (1.4) following.
