NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution has renewed Maury, The Jerry Springer Show and The Steve Wilkos Show through 2016.
The three daytime talk shows have been picked up for two additional seasons in more than 60 percent of the U.S., NBCUDTVD said Friday, to station groups including Tribune, Sinclair, Hearst and Sunbeam.
Maury, currently airing its 14th season in syndication, averages more than 3.3 million daily viewers and ranks as the No. 1 talk show across several key demos including adults 18-49. This season, it has been the top-ranked syndicated talker for 53 consecutive weeks among four key demos, including the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 metric.
Jerry Springer, which launched in 1991, is averaging 2.1 million daily viewers and is up year-over-year in households, total viewers and marks the third year in a row it has achieved the feat.
Steve Wilkos draws 1.8 million daily viewers, with half of its audience coming from the adults 25-54 demographic.
"Maury, The Jerry Springer Show and The Steve Wilkos Show continue to be three of the highest-rated talk shows in all of daytime television, demonstrating that these long-running drama-based shows resonate with the daytime audience," NBCUDTVD president Barry Wallach said in a statement announcing the news. "We are thrilled that we will continue to bring these successful shows to our local broadcast partners, and we look forward to extending the success this fall with our newest drama-resolution talk show, Trisha Goddard."
