Bristol Palin's Lifetime Show Fizzles in Premiere Ratings

Bristol Palin

If Life's a Tripp, not everyone is along for the ride.

Lifetime debuted its Bristol Palin reality series on Tuesday night to very little fanfare. The premiere episode, airing at 10 p.m., brought in just 726,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating among adults 18-49. Both numbers mark a steep drop from its lead-in, Dance Moms. One of the network's most successful efforts, Dance Moms, aired a new episode to 1.85 million viewers and a 0.8 adults rating at 9 p.m.

Though Life's a Tripp certainly didn't come with the type of promotion of previous Palin reality efforts, it's still a far cry from the family's TV successes.

Bristol's mother, the former governor and vice presidential candidate, staged a successful foray in 2010 with TLC's one-season Sarah Palin's Alaska. It raked in 4.96 million viewers in its first outing.

As for the younger Palin, Bristol's turn on Dancing With the Stars was one of its most watched seasons in its 14-cycle history and delivered the show's strongest finale.
