Fox is experiencing a case of dj vu.
The network has officially canceled Breaking In for the second time and I Hate My Teenage Daughter for the third time.
After being brought back from the dead for a second season as part of Fox's Tuesday comedy block, Christian Slater workplace comedy Breaking In, from Sony Pictures Television, struggled to gain traction, despite new addition Megan Mullally.
Airing after New Girl, the Adam F. Goldberg-created series hovered around 3 million viewers and was yanked in favor of repeats of the Zooey Deschanel comedy. The cancellation marks the second time the network has pulled the plug on the comedy; Fox axed it last May as well before reviving it in August.
For its part, lackluster freshman comedy Teenage Daughter, starring Jamie Pressly and Katie Finneran, was due to be pulled from the schedule in early April with Fox announcing a week later that it would instead pull it from its schedule completely. The comedy notched a series low in its last airing in February, drawing only a 1.2 in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demo.
The comedies join canceled dramas Alcatraz and The Finder at the network this season, while Fox has given series orders to comedies starring Mindy Kaling, Scott Foley and Nat Faxon.
