As Desperate Housewives moves into its series finale on Sunday, the stakes are high. Brees (Marcia Cross) trial draws in her neighbors, Susan (Teri Hatcher) prepares to leave Wisteria Lane, Julie (Andrea Bowen) goes into labor with Porters (Charlie Carver) child, and at least one more death will hit the neighborhood hard.

Brenda Strong, who has played the tragic character of Mary Alice Young and the shows narrator for its eight seasons, describes how the finale narration will open.

The tone is really wrapping our world up, Strong tells The Hollywood Reporter. Its a retrospective wrapping up all the players of Wisteria Lane and where they are in their lives. It gives a very satisfying look at a slice in the life of all of these ladies and where weve been and where we are now. Its beautiful and really emotional. I hope the audience is as satisfied as we are.

In the vein of wrapping up their storylines, THR asked several castmembers what final piece of advice theyd give their characters going into the finale. Here are their responses.

Brenda Strong to Mary Alice Young: Oh, put the gun down and buck up. You have better things to do.

Eva Longoria to Gaby: Put your seatbelt on. Youre about to go on another ride.

Vanessa Williams to Renee Perry: Try to keep a cool head. I dont know whether shes going to listen, but thats what I would tell her.

Felicity Huffman to Lynette Scavo: I would say go after your man and be honest!

Charlie Carver to Porter Scavo: Wear a condom!

Kevin Rahm to Lee McDermott: Go big or go home.

Tuc Watkins to Bob Hunter: Relax a little bit. Unbutton that top button and dance a little bit more.

The two-hourDesperate Housewivesfinale airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on ABC.
