Eddie Cibrian, Michael Beach to Star in Hallmark Movie (Exclusive)

Eddie Cibrian and Michael Beach are heading to the Hallmark Channel.

The cable network has tapped the duo to star in its original TV movie Playing Father, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

The project centers on a former musician (The Playboy Club's Cibrian) who, despite having fans around the world, opts to return home to take a job teaching music to disenfranchised children so he can repair his relationship with his own family. Beach will play a custodian who works at the school in which Cibrian's character works.

Wayne Lemon (Grace Under Fire) will pen the project, which is being directed by Eriq La Salle (A Gifted Man, Ringer). Larry Levinson and Randy Pope will executive produce with Lincoln Lageson on board to produce.

Cibrian's credits include the 2010 Hallmark movie Healing Hands, opposite Patrick Duffy, and CSI: Miami. He's repped by ICM and Media Four. The Global Artists Agency and Medavoy Management-repped Beach's rsum includes ER, Third Watch and The Game.

The telefilm is the latest to join Hallmark's lineup of original programming, which now includes the Andie MacDowell starrer Cedar Cove, its first scripted drama series.

Playing Father will premiere next year timed to Father's Day.
