This Week's 'American Idol' Theme: California Dreaming; 'Song I Wish I Wrote'

ThisWednesday night, American Idol'slast four standing will beCalifornia Dreaming" as they take on chart-topping songs by bands or singers from the Golden State. Also on deck for next week's theme:tunes they wished they had written, according to a tweet by Idol executiveproducer Nigel Lythgoe.

Thursday night's results showwill featurea pre-taped performance of theJennifer Lopez hit, "Dance Again" -- the single is currently No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.Additional entertainment comes courtesy of season 7 winnerDavid Cook, who'll debut a new song called The Last Song Ill Write For You."

With only three weeks left in the competition, Thursday's results are critical for thefinal four singers,Joshua Ledet, Jessica Sanchez, Phillip Phillips and Hollie Cavanagh. Whoever gets sent homemisses out on the show's coveted homecoming week episode, when the final three singers go to their respective hometowns to much fanfare.

So which songs will the Idolscover? The Mamas and The Papas, The Beach Boys, and Colbie Callait all hail from California. So did the late Jerry Garcia. Will Phillip treat the audience to a Grateful Dead tune? Of course, we're dreaming, but what do you think, Idol Worshippers?
